Let's talk about Methodology

Sometimes we need to do a little bit of brainstorming in order to know more about a certain topic. This time we do with a very old word “METHODOLOGY “. When we hear this term we started to ask ourselves about what do we certainly know about this huge topic, so we are going to define in simple words what's the definition of this important word.

Cambridge British dictionary says that " Methodology is a system of ways of doing, teaching or studying something ". So when we say that methodology is related to different words like procedures, strategies, plans and systems and also conected to the languague (in this case englsh), practicum work, assesments, and last but not least teaching resources , we aren’t making mistakes., on the contrary we are using key words that express clearly the methodological process per se.

Methodology is 100% conected to the main skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing , all this means WAYS OF COMMUNICATE and everything is related to PRAGMATIC CONTENTS (social skills, exposure, interactive, context, relevant topics and topics).

So if we go so on and try to analize our own educational system we are going to face different issues which affect directly the learning process of teaching English like:

- low motivation (as much as in students and also teachers)

- not enough pedagogical hours

- lack of teaching techniques

- lack of class management

- different cultural context

- unqualified teachers

What can we DO as future English teacher to improve or solve these problems?

Are we doing something to change this awful reality?
